Cookies.

Palimpsa uses a small number of cookies. The bottom-right notice on every page is the source of truth — this page just lists what's there.

Essential

  • __btb_session — your sign-in (issued by auth.beyond-the-box.uk, scoped to .palimpsa.com). Without this, none of the authenticated areas work.
  • __btb_consent — remembers your cookie choices so we don't ask again.

Analytics

Off by default. If you opt in, we record page views and performance data only — no IP addresses retained, no behavioural tracking, no cross-product profile.

Marketing

Off by default and not currently in use. If we ever turn this on, it will be only on the marketing pages — never on the editor itself.

Local browser storage (not cookies)

Your documents are stored in your browser's IndexedDB (database name palimpsa). This is what makes Palimpsa work offline. You can clear it from your browser settings if you ever want to wipe local copies — the cloud snapshot will be re-fetched when you next sign in.
